What is a Surrogate?
A surrogate is a woman who carries a baby for people (the Intended Parents) who are unable to have a baby on their own. Most surrogates are gestational surrogates, meaning the surrogate does not use her own eggs and doesn't share any genetic relationship (DNA) with the baby.

Surrogate Requirements to Understand
Women must meet certain Physical, Demographic and Lifestyle requirements to qualify to become a surrogate.
Some of the criteria are:
You have had uncomplicated pregnancies and deliveries and are currently parenting a child
You are between 21-42 years of age
You are a citizen or legal resident of the U.S. and live in a surrogate-friendly state (we are very sorry but we cannot accept gestational carriers who reside in Nebraska or Louisiana)
You have a Body Mass Index (BMI) of no higher than 33
You are financially secure
You have the support of your family. If married or partnered, the surrogate must have her partner’s support. This is so important!
You are ready to help another family grow

How to Become a Surrogate
If you’re interested in becoming a surrogate and supporting another family on their path to parenthood, follow the steps below to start your journey.
1. Apply online now. Takes just a few minutes from your phone! Fill out our online application to see if you qualify.
2. Screening process. Once your application is accepted, you’ll meet with our Surrogate and Social Work teams to ensure you’re ready for the journey ahead. We’ll get to know you better, complete psychological and emotional screenings, and answer any questions you have along the way.
3. Be ready to match. You’ll get to choose the family you help! Your Surrogate Advisor will use your profile to help find the right parent match for YOU, based on your preferences.
