How We Work With Our Clinic Partners

Circle has worked with over 450 clinics since our inception, and over 3,300 babies have been born through our program. Our decades of experience and intimate knowledge of the surrogacy and IVF process enables us to provide exceptional support to our intended parents. We share the same goal with all our medical partners: to help build happy and healthy families.

What Our Clinic Partnerships Look Like for Surrogacy & Egg Donation

If you are an intended parent and you were referred to Circle Surrogacy by your clinic, or if you selected Circle as your agency and introduced us to your doctor, you can expect the highest quality service and a smooth process as we navigate your journey together.

Below we outline what you can expect as an intended parent: the role of your clinic and your surrogacy agency, and how we work together to support you on your path to parenthood.

For a Surrogacy Only Journey

If you require a surrogate only to complete your journey to parenthood, the process looks as follows:

Your clinic’s role.

If you have already created your embryos (in most cases this will be at the clinic you’re working with), when it comes time to begin the surrogacy process, your clinic will:

Provide your surrogate with protocol for medications

Guide you and your surrogate through any/all medical questions/advice in relation to the medical screening and transfer process

Perform the embryo transfer and manage all medical care

Release your surrogate from their care upon a successful pregnancy (generally within 6-8 weeks post transfer)

Provide all IVF records to your surrogate’s OB to ensure a smooth medical transition of care

Circle Surrogacy’s role.

Your Circle Surrogacy team will assist in the process by:

Cataloging and preparing the surrogate’s medical records for physician review

Working with the clinic to answer any questions about the surrogate’s eligibility

Providing legal clearance to the clinic for the embryo transfer

Locating and facilitate a local monitoring clinic for your surrogate as needed during transfer cycle at the request of your IVF physician

Facilitating all travel and accommodations for the surrogate and a companion

Guiding you and your surrogate through all logistical questions/advice in relation to the medical screening and transfer process.

Guide you and your surrogate through any/all medical questions/advice in relation to the medical screening and transfer process

For a Surrogacy and Egg Donation Journey

If you require an egg donor and a surrogate, the process between your clinic and Circle will be much more involved.

Your clinic’s role. When embryos need to be created, the clinic’s role is much more extensive.

For fresh egg donations, your clinic will:

Run initial fertility testing on the potential egg donor to make sure she is a viable candidate for donation

Run tests on the egg donor and sperm provider to ensure that they are genetically compatible (meaning that they are not carriers of the same recessive genes that could negatively affect the health of a child born from that match)

Provide protocol and medications to stimulate egg production

Retrieve and fertilize the eggs to create embryos and – in many cases – genetically test those embryos to ensure there are no chromosomal abnormalities

Guide you and your egg donor through any/all medical questions/advice in relation to the medical screening and transfer process

The best embryos are then frozen in preparation for the transfer to your surrogate. This entire process can take 4-6 months from matching with a donor until embryos are created.

When it comes time to begin the surrogacy process, your clinic will:

Medically screen your surrogate

Provide your surrogate with protocol for medications

Perform the embryo transfer

Circle Surrogacy’s role. Circle will work closely with the clinic to monitor the egg donor’s progress and get her ready for the egg retrieval.

Your Circle team will:

Facilitate travel and accommodations for the egg donor for the testing phase, and for the egg donor and a travel companion for the egg retrieval procedure. Facilitate any local monitoring needed for your egg donor during the medicated cycle.

Your Circle Surrogacy team will assist in the process by:

Cataloging and preparing the donor’s medical records for physician review

Working with the clinic to answer any questions about the egg donor’s eligibility

Providing legal clearance to the clinic for the retrieval cycle

Facilitating all travel and accommodations for the surrogate and a companion

This process from start to finish can take 3-6 months.

Circle Provides a Better Experience for Parents and Clinics

  • Many agencies only facilitate the transfer of records for clinic review. Circle Surrogacy goes one step further by cataloging and organizing the records to assist the clinic in the review process. This can be incredibly helpful if a clinic is asked to review thousands of pages of documents.

  • Circle will manage any monitoring for your egg donor and/or surrogate required by your clinic that does not take place at the clinic itself. (This is often referred to as “local monitoring” when your donor or surrogate attends appointments at a clinic near her home). If the monitoring takes place at a location other than your clinic, the costs for the management of the appointments are included in Circle’s single fixed fee.

  • There are often time sensitive decisions and milestones that must occur in an IVF process. Circle coordinates schedules between the clinic and the surrogate and/or donor and works with the clinic directly to ensure that these milestones are met in a timely manner. Communication is often a challenge in an IVF process as there is personal medical information that needs to be shared, and each clinic has its own process.  Circle emphasizes identifying any potential communication issues and challenges and works with each clinic’s team to minimize disruption to the process.

  • Circle utilizes one communication system across all teams, ensuring your support team – from your lawyer to your program coordinator – has all of your information at their fingertips in real time. This is an invaluable benefit of Circle’s full-service approach.

As your agency, Circle’s experienced team will support you and your relationship with your chosen clinic.

Circle will provide the below for you:

  • Yes, Circle will work with your clinic. If we have not worked with them previously, Circle will communicate with your clinic to ensure a smooth and efficient process.

  • Yes. While we strive to be on the preferred agency list for all clinics, we recognize that some clinics can only recommend a certain number of agencies. In the instance we are not on the short list of agencies they have worked with it does not mean that we don’t have a relationship with your clinic or cannot establish one.

  • No, Circle will work with any IVF clinic of the intended parents’ choice as long as the clinic will work with us.

  • Yes, within reason. The clinic must not be opposed to working with us, and Circle must follow your clinic's protocols, which may have an impact on our process or your overall timeline. However, we are never opposed to working with any particular clinic.

  • Absolutely. We’d be happy to help you find a clinic that can fulfill the needs of your potential journey and will be the best fit for your family. Our experienced team will assess your specific needs and recommend a clinic to support you on your path to parenthood.
