Surrogacy is a journey. Whether you're intended parents dreaming of growing your family, or a woman who wants to become a surrogate mother, the journey involves a number of milestones that make up one of life’s most incredible experiences. We're here to help guide you through surrogacy in Colorado, from what happens during the surrogacy process to finding or becoming a surrogate.
Surrogacy enables couples and individuals from a variety of backgrounds, ages, and sexual orientations to build their families. The types of intended parents from Colorado who may use surrogacy to grow their families are:
• Heterosexual couples who have struggled with infertility
• Intended mothers who are unable to carry a child
• Intended parents who have a genetic defect or health condition they don't want to pass onto the child
• Same sex intended parents who want to have a genetic link to their baby
On this page, you'll find all the information needed to begin your journey as either intended parents or a surrogate mother and discover how Circle Surrogacy can help smooth the path of that journey. You'll also discover why Colorado is an excellent state for surrogacy, what's involved in the state's surrogacy process, what surrogacy costs, and how to become parents or a surrogate mother.
Intended parents in Colorado who are ready to begin their surrogacy journey enjoy many benefits, including:
Local IVF clinics. Circle works closely with the most successful IVF clinics. Working with a local clinic helps reduce travel costs associated with the surrogacy process. If you’re already established with an IVF clinic, we’re happy to work with your clinic of choice.
Local surrogates. If you’re interested in working with a surrogate mother who lives close to you, Circle can help.
We’ve got people on both coasts. Circle is based on both the East and West coasts, and we have team members across the country who are parents and surrogates through surrogacy and always happy to share their experiences.
Flexible consultation schedule. We are available for consults via Skype during day and evening hours.
After you’ve decided to pursue surrogacy as the way to grow your family and you’ve determined specific agencies you'd like to meet with, scheduling a consultation is the first step. Sharing your story and getting questions answered during the consultation are two ways you can tell if an agency is a good fit for your journey.
Our complimentary consultations are for intended parents who are emotionally and financially ready to begin a surrogacy journey within the next 12 months. We'll provide all of the information you need about the surrogacy process, the cost of surrogacy, and how to find and match with a surrogate mother.

Whether you're pursuing an independent surrogacy journey and trying to find a surrogate on your own or working with an agency, spending time thinking about what's most important in selecting a gestational carrier is an essential step. Knowing the type of relationship you want with your surrogate and the expectations you have for your journey helps the Circle Surrogacy team to find a good match.
That's why we ask intended parents to fill out a profile that helps us get to know them better and find appropriate surrogate matches.
The information we ask for in the profile includes your:
Sharing photos of yourself, your loved ones, and any other photos that give a good sense of who you are help potential surrogate matches get to know you even better.
In addition to your answers, the Matching Team uses your geographic location and views on termination when selecting a potential match. It's important to answer these questions honestly to help us find the best possible surrogate match for you.
In addition to your profile, there are certain criteria on which you will be matched with your gestational carrier. Intended parent matching criteria include their preferences on:
If you are pursuing an independent surrogacy journey, you can use the above as guidelines for what you should look for in a suitable match.
Keep these 3 criteria in mind as you prepare to match with a surrogate mother in Colorado:
Appropriate legal fit: Before we present a surrogate profile to intended parents, our legal department ensures potential matches meet the requirements of Colorado's surrogacy laws.
Personality fit and surrogacy expectations: At Circle, your Matching Team (which includes a lawyer) reviews the list of safe matches to ensure good personality fits. We want both surrogates and intended parents to have a comfortable relationship throughout the journey.
Expectations surrounding termination and selective reduction: It's important that surrogates and intended parents share similar views about the termination of a pregnancy if a situation develops in which a reduction or termination is considered. In our experience, many intended parents prefer the option to make the choice regarding termination.
Colorado is considered a surrogacy-friendly state based on its favorable laws. Circle Surrogacy's lawyers are intimately familiar with the state's laws to ensure intended parents and gestational carriers understand the legal framework regarding contracts for gestational surrogacy arrangements as well as egg, sperm, and embryo donations.

Colorado surrogacy's legal procedures are simple and quick—in most cases, Colorado surrogates can sign a voluntary acknowledgment at the hospital. Pre-birth and post-birth orders are possible.
