Named Super Lawyer and Rising Stars for Work in Reproductive Law
Boston, MA: All three partners of the Weltman Law Group, John Weltman, Scott Buckley, and Dean Hutchinson, were recognized by their peers as Super Lawyers or Rising Stars, comprised of the top 5% of lawyers in Massachusetts, for their outstanding achievements in the practice of reproductive law in Massachusetts. This is a repeat designation for each of the lawyers involved. Mr. Weltman, the firm’s managing partner, has received the Super Lawyer distinction for the second consecutive year, while Hutchinson and Buckley have been recognized as Rising Stars for their fifth and sixth years respectively.
John Weltman has focused on reproductive law, including surrogacy and gay parenting for 25 years. In Massachusetts, he was the first to establish the right of couples to receive insurance coverage for gestational surrogacy. “I am extremely proud to have the entire team recognized by Super Lawyers,” said Weltman. “It confirms not just our legal expertise, but the critical importance of reproductive law, as increasing numbers of straight and gay couples opt to have children through surrogacy.” In 1995, Mr. Weltman founded Circle Surrogacy, the world’s largest full-service surrogate parenting agency serving clients worldwide.
Scott Buckley and Dean Hutchinson are both partners at Weltman Law Group. Mr. Buckley, who also serves as Circle Surrogacy’s Director of Operations, has appeared in numerous reproductive law publications and TV programs and has moderated and presented at conferences throughout the United States and Europe. Mr. Hutchinson, the Director of Legal Services for Circle Surrogacy, currently serves as Vice Chair of the American Bar Association Assisted Reproduction Technology Committee and is also regularly called upon to speak worldwide for his expertise in US surrogacy law and its impact on international intended parents.
