 Egg donor terms to know.

Egg donor terms to know.

When searching for the ideal egg donor, it's important to know some of the terms we use here at Circle Surrogacy. "In Cycle" indicates that the egg donor is currently fulfilling an egg donation cycle with intended parents. "On Hold" means that the egg donor is currently unavailable for matching. "Proven Fertility" signifies a woman who has given birth to a healthy child with her own eggs. Finally, "Previous Donor" is a woman who has completed a full egg donation cycle and is approved to donate again.

Becoming a Parent: An Overview

Consultations with Circle Surrogacy.

All prospective intended parents – whether you’re a couple or a single individual, LGBTQ+, domestic or international – begin with a complimentary consultation that lasts approximately 2-3 hours. This helps us tailor information to meet your specific needs. You can request a consultation by filling out this form.

Becoming a Circle Surrogacy parent.

If you wish to proceed with Circle Surrogacy after your complimentary consultation, you'll sign an Agreement for Services. Once the Agreement is executed, you'll be assigned a Journey Support Team, who will guide you through every phase of the surrogacy process.

The matching process.

The matching process begins with an initial call or Skype with your Journey Support Team to choose an IVF clinic and an egg donor (if needed). The next step is to find an appropriate match with a gestational surrogate who's completed our comprehensive screening process.

Types of Egg Donation

Known Egg Donation

Known Egg Donation indicates that you'll have an ongoing relationship with your egg donor. Designed to give you direct access to egg donors if you or your children have any questions, we've found Known Egg Donation to be effective in creating longer, healthier and more meaningful connections between egg donors, children and the parents whose lives they've transformed.

More About Known Egg Donation

Semi-Known & Anonymous Egg Donation

Semi-Known Egg Donation allows you and egg donors to mutually agree on some contact to determine what type of relationship will be best for all parties. This type of egg donation simply allows you to connect with donors to hear their story and to help both parties confirm it's the right match.

How does the matching process work?

Once we have accepted a surrogate applicant into our program, our matching and legal teams determine possible matching options based on a variety of factors, including: the state she lives in, whether she has insurance, and the matching preferences from both intended parents and surrogates.

We will send the redacted profile of the intended parents (with no identifying information) to the surrogate. If she expresses interest, we will send her profile to the intended parents, similarly leaving out all identifying information. Once the surrogate and the prospective parents express a mutual interest, we will put them in touch by telephone, Skype or email so they can begin to get to know each other.

After communicating with each other, the surrogate and the prospective parents meet in person at their mutual convenience: at the surrogate’s home, the intended parents’ home, or some place in between. If the surrogate has children and/or a partner or spouse, the intended parents meet them as well.

An IVF physician medically screens them after a match is made. If for any reason the surrogate doesn’t pass the medical screening (which is rare), Circle Surrogacy presents a new match free of charge.

What are the differences between anonymous, semi-anonymous and known donation?

The matching for each process is the same and you are able to review a redacted profile for the intended parents, as they are able to view yours.

Known Donation: We can set up communication between all parties, and you can carry on the relationship to your agreed upon level of comfort. For example, you can meet and exchange information to be in touch in the future, if necessary, or can form a relationship and have consistent contact. Our social workers will discuss this further and answer any questions in your screening.

Semi-Known Donation: You donate your eggs and limit the amount of information that is shared. For example, you can decide that you don't want to exchange information but may want to meet in person at our office.

Anonymous Donation: You would not have open contact or communication with the couple or single to whom you agree to donate. The contract would use only first names, and all information is exchanged through our agency. We ask that you keep our agency informed of all changes in your health history and keep your contact information up to date.
