Finding an Egg Donor

Whether they’re growing their families through surrogacy or not, finding an egg donor is an essential part of the family-building process for intended parents from Norway. And it’s one we take seriously here at Circle Surrogacy & Egg Donation.

 what is egg donation

What is egg donation?

Egg donation is the process of a fertile woman donating her eggs to allow another woman to conceive a child, whether she’s the intended parent herself or a surrogate for heterosexual or homosexual couples/individuals. At Circle Surrogacy & Egg Donation, we pride ourselves on working with women who donate their eggs for reasons that go beyond financial incentives. Our egg donors are wholly dedicated to making the dreams of intended parents come true, and they’re totally prepared — emotionally, mentally and physically — to do just that.

Who benefits from egg donation?

Though some intended parents can use their own eggs to create embryos for their surrogates, there are plenty of cases where infertility makes that impossible. As a result, egg donation, egg donor databases and egg donor agencies are incredibly important in making family dreams come true. The intended parents who cannot have children on their own and require egg donation include:

• Single women who wish to become mothers but carry genetic conditions that could pose a threat to a child
• Single women who have eggs that are not healthy
• Heterosexual couples in instances where the woman carries genetic conditions that could pose a threat to a child
• Heterosexual couples in instances where the woman has eggs that are not healthy
• Same sex male couples
• Single men

How do I find the right egg donor for me?

Understanding how to find an egg donor is incredibly important. As a highly-rated egg donation agency, we try our best at Circle Egg Donation to make the process as easy and seamless as possible by encouraging intended parents and egg donors to find their most compatible partners in this parenting journey.

We do this through our matching process, which ensures intended parents will find the egg donor of their dreams. This is all made possible by our extensive egg donor database, which intended parents use to find and identify the egg donor they wish to partner with on their journey.

But we don’t stop there. We also give egg donors the opportunity to indicate the types of intended parents they wish to partner with, which only increases the chances of experiencing a wonderful journey filled with compatibility, understanding and love. This level of attention and care allows Circle Surrogacy, and intended parents, to source, select, and find egg donors which truly align with the values and desires of the family.

What makes Circle's egg donor database different?

At Circle Surrogacy & Egg Donation, we hold our egg donors to high standards. How we select egg donors results in an egg donation database that is regularly updated with hundreds of bright, healthy and generous women who are hoping to help intended parents achieve their dreams of having a family.

We make this possible through our egg donor requirements, which call for donors to be between 21 and 29 years of age (up to 31 if an experienced donor), be a U.S. or Canadian citizen, have a Body Mass Index lower than 29, have some level of education beyond high school, have no record of psychiatric hospitalizations and have no more than one occurrence of the same cancer in their family history.

Just as important, our egg donor application is designed to only admit egg donors who are donating for all the right reasons. As a result, you can feel good knowing that your egg donor is emotionally invested in the success and happiness of your parenting journey.

What are the costs of egg donation?

As you can imagine, the price of egg donation varies depending on the egg donation agency you work with. That’s because egg donor costs are based on the level of service provided by the agency, the criteria of their egg donors and whether or not the donor is an experienced egg donor.

So, how much does egg donation cost? Here at Circle Egg Donation, this is how our costs for egg donation break down:

• For intended parents, egg donation can cost anywhere between $25,000–$30,000. This does not include clinic fees for in vitro fertilization, or IVF, and $9,000–$10,000 of this total is typically allocated for the egg donor’s fee.
• If the egg donor is experienced, she may be compensated more, thus increasing the cost of egg donation.

If these costs are eyebrow-raising, we understand. The intricacies of family building require enormous amounts of experience and expertise from a number of professionals, which is reflected in the costs. That’s why, at Circle Surrogacy & Egg Donation, we do our best to keep costs as low as possible for you through our strategic partnerships and financing options for intended parents of all kinds — LGBTQ+ and heterosexual individuals and couples.

What is in-vitro fertilization (IVF)?

In vitro fertilization (also known as IVF) is a process where sperm is combined with an egg outside of the body to produce fertilization. The process also includes the transfer of the embryo into the surrogate mother. Family building through IVF is an incredibly important part of the parenting and surrogacy journey, so we do our best to work with the smartest and most experienced doctors and clinics across the country.

How much does IVF cost?

At Circle Surrogacy, we work with clinics that have different packages that intended parents can choose from when embarking on their surrogacy or egg donor journey. These clinic package options include IVF transfers alone for those who have already created an embryo, as well as egg donation and embryo creation combined with IVF transfer. Additionally, some package options include 1-3 IVF transfers and other package options include unlimited IVF transfers until a live birth is achieved.

• In vitro fertilization (IVF) costs typically range from $7,000-$10,000 for intended parents with embryos already produced.
• For intended parents who need embryos created, IVF costs can be around $29,900

The three types of egg donation at Circle Surrogacy

At Circle, we have three different types of egg donation: known egg donation, semi-known egg donation, and anonymous egg donation.

Known egg donation is the type we encourage most, because it allows intended parents to form a sincere, meaningful bond with their egg donor. Contact information is shared between intended parents and their egg donor so that they can communicate throughout the parenting journey, and stay in touch long after delivery.

Semi-known egg donation occurs when intended parents and their egg donor agree to share their first names and general area of residence with each other. Though contact information isn’t shared by Circle, semi-known egg donation allows intended parents and egg donors to maintain limited and anonymous contact with each other.

Anonymous egg donation involves no contact between intended parents and egg donors, meaning you’ll have no information on your donor. A donor of this kind is known as an anonymous egg donor.
