What Being an Egg Donor Means to Me

Proud circle egg donor letterboard

In honor of Egg Donor Appreciation Week 2022, we asked our incredible egg donors why they became egg donors, the best part of the experience, and why they wanted to do these donations through Circle Surrogacy & Egg Donation. Whether they are experienced donors who have done multiple donations, or first timers, their answers prove that egg donation is a lifechanging experience and the women who choose to pursue it are truly amazing.

Each egg donation journey is unique, and each egg donor comes to this decision for their own reason. Some women are mothers and what someone else to know the joy of parenthood. Some women have watched someone close to them struggle to conceive and want to help another family grow. There are many generous women who know they don’t want to have children themselves, but know they want to help someone else. Whatever the reason, we are endlessly grateful for our egg donors and their generosity.

These donors are wonderful, but don’t just take our word for it! Check out their thoughts on being an egg donor below!

Why did you want to become an egg donor?

“The reason I wanted to be an egg donor was very clear to me, but the fulfilling, heartwarming surge of emotions came after my retrieval was complete. I’m choosing to donate again because due to the communication I continue to have with my IPs, I understand what an impact I have on their lives. Maintaining my relationship with these two wonderful individuals gave me their perspective on receiving the beautiful gift of life. I would love to make this positive impact for anyone.” – Crystal

“I’ve had four children who I love and cherish more than anything in this world and I want to give somebody who can’t have that experience the chance to have a baby. I want families to be able to have a child and be able to experience the fun, chaos, smiles, laughter, and joy that children bring!” – Creo

“Becoming an egg donor was something I thought about often and was very curious about the “what’s” and “how’s” when I started thinking about the “why’s.” I sat down with my partner and when we were talking about the wonderful things from our perspective of having children, we also talked about how some people can’t always have that addition naturally. So we had a conversation about “what if” I was able to do this for someone. We both agreed that we wanted to help others grow their family.” – Circle Donor

“I signed up to become a donor to help people have the families they’ve always wanted to. Seeing my best friend go through fertility problems is upsetting. Every month, she gets disappointed. Anytime one of her friends announces they’re pregnant, she’s happy for them, but upset at her situation. I couldn’t imagine going through that kind of heart break, so I figured if I could help a family out, I would do anything!” – Dessie

“I’ve donated five times. I donate because of the fulfillment it brings me knowing I got to be a part of someone’s journey to bring a miracle to this earth. Children are miracles. They teach us to see the world innocently and freshly. Seeing life and the world through a child’s eyes is my favorite perspective. Knowing I can play any role in the journey to bring one of those miracles earth side is what I feel like my purpose is. Helping people is my main objective in life and helping them helps me know I’m doing what I’m suppose to be doing. Some of the intended parents send me updated photos and it always stops me in my tracks and reminds me how important and precious life is.” – Fallon

“I wanted to become an egg donor because my family is extremely important to me. Being with my extended family over the holidays is one of my favorite times of the year because it brings the best feelings of warmth and love. I would love to be able to give that to another family one day.” – Stephanie

“I became a donor because I saw firsthand through my friend how needed egg donors are. She was experiencing infertility, and I got to see through IVF her grow her own family. Seeing her become a mom, and the need for egg donations I became motivated to donate. I figured maybe somewhere out in the world I can help a family like another woman helped my friend!” – McKenzie

“The thing that motivated me the most to becoming an egg donor was, being able to make a difference and filling someone’s heart with pure joy.” – Randi

“I’m a first-time egg donor and honestly when I thought about applying I was nervous at first, not knowing if I was going to be picked or that I wouldn’t be accepted. After talking about it with friends and family I began researching more and nervousness turned into excitement hoping if I got accepted to donate, I could be helping create a family. I’m very thankful for everyone who’s been involved in this process so far and cannot wait for my intended parents to start their very own family.” – Catherine

What has been your favorite part of being an egg donor?

“I am an experienced donor and the best thing is knowing that I can be a part of changing someone’s life in such an amazing way. It gives me a feeling of being included in something larger and more important than myself, and I am beyond grateful to be able to help people in this way.” – Maranda

“I’ve donated twice. I’d say the best parts of the experience have been definitely giving an opportunity to others to start a family and the travel! I loved seeing the family grow and the happiness that they gained once their child was born and that was really amazing to see. And it was also really fun for me to go to different destinations that I haven’t been before and to be able to see new things.” – Leah

“As an experienced egg donor, my favorite part was my meet and greet with my IPs. I felt so connected and felt their dreams becoming reality. I could feel their happiness and could see the joy on their face, I loved it!” – Tia

Why donate with Circle Surrogacy & Egg Donation?

“I just completed my first donation and it was such an incredible experience. Circle was by my side every step of the way and offered an incredible support system. My IPs were amazing and so so kind. I feel honored to have been chosen to help them start their family. It’s definitely been one of the most rewarding experiences I’ve ever had and I can’t wait to donate again!” – Alexis

“As a known donor, I was lucky enough to have the support from not only Circle Surrogacy but from the IPs themselves. Their kind words and positive energy throughout the entire process was extremely comforting.” – Crystal

“When I reached out to Circle, all of my questions were answered, the team was so kind, and through my first donation, really went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable. I can’t wait to donate with this amazing team for a special cause again!” – Circle Donor

“Being an egg donor is more than just the gift of giving someone the chance to be a parent, it’s the whole process from start to finish. It’s the caring, thoughtful communications from Circle employees. It’s meeting and speaking with people who you probably wouldn’t bump into and somehow you couldn’t imagine not ‘meeting’ them in this world. It’s seeing the pure joy and love that you could help make possible. I’m proud to be a part of the circle ‘village’ that helps make all this possible in the most well-rounded way possible through the staff and IP’s.” – Kathryn
