The Tel Aviv edition of Time Out featured a story about the growing number of Israeli couples and singles that have become parents with the help of Circle Surrogacy.

June 1, 2009

time out tel avivThe article mentions the upcoming June 12 seminar Circle is offering in Tel Aviv on Gay Pride Day, which follows a highly attended seminar held two years ago. The article states that since the 2007 seminar, "Circle already helped bring to the world 15 babies to Israeli parents, including 5 pairs of twins, 12 more are currently being carried by surrogate mothers in the USA (of them 4 sets of twins), and 11 additional couples are also in process." The author notes that Circle has success rates that are much higher than the USA average in similar cases (over 75% compared to 50%), and in particular the pregnancy and twins rates among Israeli clients are even higher: "John Weltman, the agency's founder, is used to joke that there must be something in the water they drink in Israel that contributes to such high success rates."

The magazine interviewed Nisim and Itay, a Tel Aviv couple that recently became the proud parents of twin girls with the help of Circle. Once they met other couples that worked with Circle Surrogacy, they recount, "very soon we understood everything that is involved, we signed a contract and got sucked into the process... Today all other options seem absurd." The article also includes an interview with Sara, the surrogate who carried the twin girls for the Israeli couple. "I think that as far as the concerns about surrogacy being an exploitation of women, if a woman decided freely to undergo surrogacy, it is her right. Even before I got married and had my own kids I knew that one day I will want to help people who cannot have children on their own — and it indeed turned out to be a wonderful experience."
