Circle Surrogacy sponsors "Men Having Babies" seminar in New York

men having babies panel On November 19, 2006, Circle Surrogacy co-sponsored for the second year a special program for New York area gay men who want to have babies. The program was hosted by Center Kids, the family program of the NY LGBT Community Center. The panel included John Weltman, CS's president, one of our parents, Mike and his surrogate Dustin, among others.

The event followed the success of last year's "Reproductive Choices for Gay Men" seminar, also co-sponsored by Circle Surrogacy. This year the focus of the two-hour panel presentation was an overview of the typical steps and decisions in the surrogacy process. For the approximate 100 men in attendance, a group of leading experts in gay parenting provided information about the medical, legal and psychological issues that gay parents must address to have a baby through surrogacy. After the event, the participants were able to get more information at an exhibition space with representatives from Circle Surrogacy, Connecticut Fertility Associates, and other agencies and organizations who provide services and support for gay men who want to have babies. Also, this year a reception after the seminar provided the opportunity for prospective parents to meet several NY area gay families formed with the help of Circle Surrogacy.

Below are some pictures from the event and a video segment produced for the Center's monthly news magazine.
