Surrogacy in the USA for French Couples and Singles
Why should you consider surrogacy in the USA?
Surrogacy is prohibited or restricted in several European countries such as France, the UK, Spain, Switzerland and Sweden, so many Europeans have been turning to the USA for help in having biological children of their own.
The United States is widely considered to be the preferable country for surrogacy among Europeans and other international parents due to legal, societal and medical conditions. In the USA almost every state permits compensated surrogacy and no appeals court in any state has ever given custody to a gestational carrier. The US also offers a supportive environment for surrogates and couples. Recent articles in American and European publications including the New
York Times, Tribune de Genève, Le Point, Newsweek, Wall
Street Journal, and France-Amérique, all of which feature interviews with Circle Surrogacy’s president and clients, demonstrate a growing acceptance of surrogacy. John Weltman was quoted in Newsweek as saying that parents who work with a reputable agency like Circle have a "99 percent chance of getting a baby and a 100 percent chance of keeping it."
Having children in the States can be relatively easy for international couples. It is only necessary to come to the United States three to four times, including the 20-week ultrasound and birth. Departures from the United States are easy as well - most international couples return to their countries within 2 weeks of the birth of their children, with their names on the birth certificate and US Passports, if they choose to apply for them.
Why Circle?
Circle's success with international clients may be attributed to the special attention that is given to addressing every country's needs and legal circumstances. We have studied the laws in each country, and in some of the most frequent destinations such as Sweden, Italy, Israel, France and the UK, we have partnered with local organizations and lawyers to provide a complete solution for our clients before and after the birth. Circle's staff regularly meets with prospective clients for intake
consultations in
their own countries and cities, although many still conduct them over the phone. Once they become clients, Circle's staff leads all parents through the logistical, legal and administrative processes involved from day one, and until they gain full custody of their newborns and bring them home.

French gay magazine features Circle president and surrogate
April's cover story at Têtu, France's largest LGBT magazine, was dedicated to "Fathers through Surrogacy" (Papas grâce à la gestation pour autrui). The article reports that "Disappointed by co-parenting or simply wishing to raise their children full time,
gay couples are using
a surrogate mothers from abroad to achieve their desire for fatherhood." Because surrogacy is prohibited in France, these prospective dads turn to agencies like Circle Surrogacy. The article includes interviews and full page pictures of John Weltman, Circle President, and Lisa, a Circle surrogate that bore twins for a French gay couple last September. John noted that "the share of foreign couples exploded: they were 25% in 2007, today they are 40%, from 36 different countries on five continents."
Lisa explained that for her, this was "something special that we have lived through together as family, and I hope that this is how my children will remember it as well... Knowing that I am part of something so huge and important, it's extraordinary. Today, there is a family that would not have existed without me."

Melissa: Arizona surrogate mother gives the gift of life to a Belgian couple
We recently received two very moving letters: one from Melissa, a gestational carrier from Arizona, and the other from Didier and Eric, the Belgian couple she just help become parents. The surrogate mother and intended parents are almost competing in praising each
other,
and in proclaiming
how life-altering this experience was for them... Again we see how the ties forged between these families can transcend the differences in culture, language or circumstances.
