Melissa, Didier and Eric: Arizona surrogate mother gives the gift of life to a couple from Belgium

Melissa with
Didier and Eric

We recently received two very moving letters: one from Melissa, a gestational carrier from Arizona, and the other from Didier and Eric, the Belgian couple she just help become parents.  It is always delightful to see how surrogates and intended parents are almost competing in praising each other, and in proclaiming how life-altering this experience was for them... Again we see how the ties forged between these families can transcend the differences in culture, language or circumstances.

At Circle, we see surrogacy as a process of families helping create other families. Indeed, the journey of these two families was not without difficulties, as one of the newborn babies passed away. However, as both writers attest, the families supported each other through the tough times, and emerged "better people than we were a year ago"...

I wanted to thank you for everything over the past year. Circle has been wonderful to all of us. The team has been great at answering questions and helping when ever needed.

I have been so lucky to be matched with such wonderful loving IP's. The experience of being a surrogate mother has made me grow in so many ways over the past year. I'm so thankful for all the love and support from Didier and Eric and their family. My main goal in this project was to make them Daddies and we succeeded. They are great Dads they are so great with Boris. Even though this was a tough pregnancy with twin B we made it. Benjamin was able to keep fighting until the end to make sure Boris was healthy.

Didier and Eric will be long life friends they are a part of my life and family. So, once again, thank you!

Melissa is beyond incredible indeed. I suppose that all surrogate candidates have to meet the above extraordinary mark to make the cut but I feel that we have been (and still are) exceptionally blessed to have been matched with such a wonderful person. The way Melissa opened her heart, her house and allowed us to get to know her and her family is truly amazing. We knew that this experience would be a life altering one... What happened is beyond our wildest expectations. Thanks to Melissa and her family not only did we become a family (and Boris is sooo cute) but we definitely are different and hopefully better people than we were a year ago. To us, Melissa's family is and will be a permanent fixture in our life and we love it!

So.. Thank you Melissa, and of course, thank you all at Circle for.... making miracles happen! You guys truly do!

Love from us three! ES, DD and BD!
